Story

The legend of the Three Sisters seems to exist in almost every indigenous tribe. This version is told by the Haudenosaunee.

The middle sister wore a bright yellow dress and darted back and forth across the field. This sister was beans. Along with her sisters Squash and Corn, Beans make up the three main agricultural crops of various indigenous groups in North America.

Details

Beans is a 5.5”x7.5” hand painted watercolour and coloured inks painting. Paper is 100% cotton, natural white, cold press watercolour paper with a deckled edge. Line art is done with watercolour and coloured ink. Iridescent details are done with acrylic ink.
